Meet Wendi Lev
Ambitious, professional individuals come to me for help in overcoming challenges which somehow hinder them. Couples come to me for help removing the obstacles in their relationships. Teens and young adults often need help coping with issues in school, with budding careers and social pressures. Others come to me for help getting past loss, understanding whatever is holding them back from success or learning what they need to restore happiness and joy in their lives.
We all want to lead more fulfilling lives and enjoy greater success and satisfaction no matter our circumstances. Regardless of the reason for counseling, I help my clients learn what is holding them back from enjoying their best possible life.

Change is Possible
I know positive change is possible. I’ve experienced it myself. No matter how daunting the present may seem, relief is right around the corner.
Early on as a busy professional, finding a balance in my career and personal life was a struggle. In those days, the idea of finding work-life balance was foreign to most professionals. And while many today know such a need exists, making it happen is not easy. It was not easy for me.
While undergoing my own transformation through therapy, I stumbled upon a concept that would transform my approach to helping others. Meeting with my own therapist to uncover what in my own thinking was holding me back, I came to realize that the traditional time-clock method hindered progress.
My appointments would end after precisely 45 minutes, regardless of whether I was feeling ready to re-enter the world or had made any progress during the session. Often, I would carry the thoughts and emotions of a mid-day session back to work. Feeling distracted and confused, I was unable to focus and that was not fair to either myself or my clients.
So, I made a commitment to the working professionals’ I treat. Therapy with me would never be determined by the clock. Therapy would be about the client’s needs and the client’s time. Ever since, I have been treating individuals, couples, and groups with uniquely customized, integrated methods, while offering flexible hours and session lengths.
This approach has made all the difference. And the results speak volumes.
The key techniques I employ include Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, Gottman couples’ therapy, Emotionally Focused and Couples Therapy. These are the most effective forms of traditional and evidence-based therapies for the modern professional.
With over 20 years’ clinical experience in both hospital and private settings, my clients enjoy the highest degree of success in resolving their issues. My initial focus is to develop a strong therapeutic bond upon which together, we promptly relieve the most debilitating symptoms. Once this is achieved, we build toward long-term goals by adding tools and finding lasting solutions.
If you have the courage to invest in yourself, I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward wholeness and healing.
UNIVERSITY & CERTIFICATIONS
Upon receiving my Master’s Degree I worked at The Stone Institute of Psychiatry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This experience provided me with a unique perspective and led to my seeking additional training. This training included:
- Psychodynamic therapy
- The Gottman Method
- Solution-focused therapy
- EFT couples therapy
- Sex therapy
- Addiction therapy
- Conflict resolution
My approach as a therapist is collaborative. We will begin with an evaluation and assessment to identify your strengths, areas for potential growth, immediate problems, desires, personality, communication style, and long-term goals. Armed with this information, we can work together to first give you relief from immediate pain and stress and then work towards life-long change.
Together we decide on the best integration of techniques for your unique situation and goals. Do not worry if you are unfamiliar with the techniques; I will explain each in simple, clear terms so that together, we can tailor the best treatment plan for you.
I am dedicated to providing personalized care to help:
- Enhance self-awareness and insight.
- Identify beliefs about yourself & the world which keep you STUCK.
- Provide a corrective/restorative experience; to activate innate strengths & talents.
- Attain self-acceptance and confidence.
- Resolve internal conflicts.
- Develop strategies and skills to cope with current and future struggles while building resilience.
- For couples: to enhance communication, effectively deal with conflict and increase intimacy.
Coming to therapy means that you have taken a huge step to creating the life you want. I take that seriously and am committed to assisting you in your growth and transformation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. I know how difficult it can be to fit in the time for regular therapy, and I also know how crucial it is to maintain progress. I am available for scheduling appointments during and outside of normal business hours.
Currently, I accept new clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO Insurance. I am happy to discuss the process with you, whether you are in-network, out-of-network, or choosing not to go through insurance. Contact me with any specific questions or read more about insurance and fees below.
Payment is due at the end of each session. I accept payments by cash, check, credit cards, or HSA card.
I understand that life can take unexpected and last-minute turns. If you have to cancel an appointment, I require two days (48 hours) notice so that I can waive the fee.
Your course of therapy will be uniquely your own and will depend on many factors like your situation, history, personality, style, and approach. I strive to alleviate your symptoms as soon as possible, but I can’t make any promises. I do know that when it comes to your well-being, there is not a second to lose.
As a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CDAC), I know that you cannot address substance abuse or addiction without also dealing with problems such as anxiety and depression. In therapy, I treat the whole person, not single issues.
I am trained in treating sexual dysfunction in men, women, and couples. I have helped many clients recover from issues of intimacy, performance, desire, trauma, and communication, among others. Intimacy and a healthy sex life are part of a person’s overall wellbeing and are treated with dignity, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
Choose Your Session
75-minute Initial Diagnostic Interview/Assessment, $180
During our first meeting, we get to know each other and begin to form a relationship. You set the pace, with a little more time than a standard session to help me gain a full understanding of what might be blocking you from fulfillment. I do a thorough assessment and evaluation, then together we determine the best course of action. Depending on your needs, we continue meeting for 60-minute sessions to explore, uncover, and heal. There is no judgement and no magic. Just the two of us working hard to build your best life possible.
INSURANCE AND PAYMENT
Choose Your Payment Method
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Multiplan (PHCS) PPO plans. I recommend you contact your insurance provider to find out what coverage your plan provides for mental health services. Find out if my services are in-network or out-of-network for your plan and ask about your deductible and copayment. Please know that you are responsible for understanding your coverage and payment responsibilities.
If you’re using out-of-network insurance benefits, I will provide you receipts for all services to submit to your provider.
- In-network client copayments are due at the time of service.
- In-network clients who have not yet reached their out-of-pocket deductible are billed for full payment at the time of service.
- Out-of-network client payments are due at the time of service.
- You may pay with cash, check, health savings plan card, credit card, or debit card.
